When I Remember
maku (n.) | MAH-koo
1 Multiple simultaneous and conflicting emotions felt suddenly and overwhelmingly;
eg. joy and sadness.
2 The resulting gratitude for simply being alive.
As she reached the frozen summit, calves cramping, eyes watering, cheeks tingling, she stared out at the endless peaks beyond her own and was struck with maku.
This is not a film about joy, or of sadness, or of one emotion. This is a film about maku and the messy inbetween. It is a personal pursuit to explore the spaces in life we can never grasp, and to understand the things that make us human.
